Burials

Choosing Burial

When choosing burial for your loved one, you will often be asked for the type of grave selection you require. Many options are available and may vary from cemetery to cemetery.

These options vary from a single grave for one burial only, you may choose to have the grave double depth to allow for two burials in the one grave, you may also choose to have a plot reserved beside your loved one for future use. These are just some options and we can discuss fully the options to you when you have decided the cemetery of your choice.

Most newer cemeteries these days are operated as a lawn cemetery. Some older cemeteries still operate as a monumental cemetery. This may also be of importance to you as to whether you prefer lawn or monumental cemeteries. Invariably cemetery fees are less expensive in country areas, however this may not always be the case.

Things to Consider for a Burial

When planning a burial there are a number of things to consider.

  • Place of burial. If your family member does not have a pre-planned funeral / cemetery plot you will need to arrange this.
  • Viewing: For many a viewing is important as it provides the opportunity to say last goodbyes to a loved one. This generally takes place at the funeral home prior to the burial.
  • Where to Hold the Service: There are a number of options including; the funeral home chapel, a church, the graveside or you may wish to choose a place such as a garden or farm that was meaningful to your loved one.
  • Will there be a gathering of friends and family following the burial?

We understand that this is an emotional time for families. Len Russell Funerals compassionate staff are here to help you in your time of need.
